A Different Approach to Musculoskeletal Needling
Dāo Needle Therapy brings together traditional Oriental techniques and modern biomechanical therapies. The system uses biomechanical testing, patient positioning, Ashi point grading, traditional and fascial meridians, and a specialized Dāo needle when working with chronic pain, scar tissue, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Dāo Needle Therapy can be used as a standalone treatment or incorporated alongside acupuncture, dry needling, manual therapy, and other treatment approaches.
What You’ll Learn in the Foundation Course
The Foundation Course introduces the core principles, assessment methods, and needling techniques used in Dāo Needle Therapy. The goal is to help practitioners build the understanding and hands-on experience needed to begin incorporating the system into their practice.
Retention Rolling
The Vancouver course will be one of the first Foundation courses to include Retention Rolling, a new technique Brian is adding to the current Dāo Needle Therapy curriculum.
Students will receive hands-on instruction and learn how Retention Rolling fits into the assessment and treatment process taught throughout the course.
Hands-On Learning
This is an interactive, in-person course that combines instruction, live demonstrations, hands-on practice, and direct feedback. Students will have opportunities to observe the techniques, practice with classmates, and ask questions throughout the weekend.
The course is designed to provide a practical understanding of the system rather than lecture-only instruction.
Learn from Dāo Needle Therapy Founder Brian Bowen
Brian Bowen, LAc, CMT, and PAS, is the founder of Dāo Needle Therapy and Integrative Health Inc. He has more than two decades of clinical experience with a focus on musculoskeletal conditions and the integration of traditional Chinese medicine with modern biomechanical assessment.
Brian is a continuing education provider in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. His courses combine clinical instruction, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice to help practitioners understand how the techniques are applied.
