Discover a unique approach to treating pain with the Dāo Needle Therapy Foundation Certification Course.

Dāo Needle Therapy bridges ancient Oriental techniques and modern biomechanical therapies. It uses biomechanical testing, patient positioning, Ashi point grading, traditional and fascial meridians, and a specialized needle to treat chronic pain, scar tissue, and musculoskeletal conditions.

Join Dāo Needle Therapy founder Brian Bowen, LAc, CMT, PAS, for two days of interactive lectures, hands-on practice, and live demonstrations. This course is designed to help practitioners develop the confidence and skills to begin incorporating Dāo Needle Therapy into their practice.

What You’ll Learn

During the Foundation Course, students will:

• Acquire experience using the specialized Dāo needle
• Understand the differences between dry needling and Dāo Needle Therapy
• Deepen their understanding of Ashi point anatomy
• Learn how Ashi points serve as diagnostic guides and therapeutic meters
• Develop palpation skills to differentiate active and passive Ashi points
• Identify and differentiate dysfunction from compensation
• Explore the mechanisms of pain in relation to Qi and blood stagnation
• Observe a variety of treatments, protocols, and needling techniques
• Use biomechanical testing and patient positioning during assessment and treatment

New to the Foundation Curriculum: Retention Rolling

This Vancouver training will be one of the first Foundations courses to include Retention Rolling, a new technique Brian is adding to the current Dāo Needle Therapy curriculum.

Students will receive hands-on instruction and learn how the technique fits within the assessment and treatment process taught throughout the course.
